About Us

Hello and Welcome to Niamh.

Choosing to name the brand after myself was not an easy decision. After many attempts to find a name that felt right, I found myself returning to my roots and to the meaning behind my own name. Niamh is a traditional Irish name meaning Brightness and Radiance, and it felt like the most honest and natural fit for the brand I wanted to create.

After a career of over ten years working in hotels and high-end venues in London, specialising in events and hospitality, I made the decision to move to Lisbon with my partner. I fell in love with the city’s charm, warmth, and endless blue skies. We arrived at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and, like so many others, went straight into lockdown.

It was during this quiet and uncertain time that Niamh truly began. After countless online tutorials and many failed attempts, I eventually created a candle I genuinely loved. I have always been drawn to candles, lighting one to unwind after a long day, to celebrate birthdays with friends, to remember loved ones, and to set the mood at the many events I planned throughout my career. When everything finally started to come together, it felt a little like fate.

Once lockdown lifted, I took Niamh to the markets of Lisbon. There were long summer days in extreme heat, rainy winter mornings, and plenty of challenges along the way, but the feeling of joy when people stopped, connected with the candles, and took one home with them kept pushing me forward.

In December 2025, after many months of searching for the right space, I opened my own studio in Lisbon. It is here that we now create our candles and host workshops, a full-circle moment that brings together my love of event planning, hospitality, and craftsmanship.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I truly hope our candles bring moments of brightness and radiance into your life, and I would love to welcome you into the studio someday.
